The
Blogger Boost
Why We
Recommend Using This Technique
The
Stampede Secret has shown you how to use RSS Feeds to gain fast
inclusion into Yahoo’s directory and has worked incredibly well by all
reports, but some of us are still having less than perfect results
bringing new websites and/or RSS Feeds to Google’s attention. This
bonus report will ensure that the Google Bot visits and indexes your
site in record time.
What’s
Google’s Problem?
The
trouble with getting Google to notice your RSS Feed in the past is due
to the fact that DMOZ feeds Google’s RSS directory and DMOZ is
‘run’ by human editors. Not all categories within DMOZ have editors!
Your submissions could just be sitting in a file waiting on an editor to
review. The Blogger Boost is the automated answer to getting Google to
your site automatically!
Is The
Blogger Boost Technique Right For You?
This
technique will work for every website that would like to either be
included in Google quickly or enjoy an increased page rank.
A
Note on Blogger:
We’re using Blogger here to get Google’s attention but it is
important to note that Blogger is the least useful blog resource
for creating and managing a blog. We by no means suggest that you use
Blogger for anything other than this technique. More information on
blogs and their viability is available in The Stampede Secret.

Step
2:
Set up a Blogger Account,
Blog
Title, Blog
Address, Blog
Template, Make
One Post
The
Blogger Boost Technique is:
- very
simple and takes less than ½ hour to learn the steps,
- easy
to set up (we’ll walk you through it)
- completely
free
- can
be repeated over and over again for as many websites/pages as you
like.
The
Theory Behind the Blogger Boost
Keyword
rich text links to your website’s pages carry high esteem in Google’s
eyes when they are hosted off-site. If we really want Google to notice us
and place a higher value on our sites for chosen keywords we simply need
to get more off-site links to our website. As Blogger is owned and managed
by Google, Google will find those links much faster when they exist in
Blogger.
Simple
right?
- First,
you’ll want to install the Google toolbar to your explorer browser
window – this will allow you to quickly post your content into a
blogger page, and keep a watchful eye on your Google page rank.
- You’ll
then want to set up a free Blogger account.
- Change
some default settings in Blogger.
- Then,
‘Blog This’ 3 or 4 times a day for 4 or 5 days.
Let’s
Get To It!
If
you already have the Google Toolbar installed in your browser you can skip
down to Step 2.
The
Google Toolbar loads automatically with your browser and looks something
like this:
The
toolbar works with all versions of Microsoft Windows with Microsoft’s
Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher installed. The Google Toolbar also comes
with a pop-up blocker that you can toggle on or off per site.
Read
more and download it here: http://toolbar.google.com/
Just
follow the instructions, it’s fast and easy.
Step
2: Set up a Blogger Account
After
you have successfully installed the toolbar, point your browser to http://www.blogger.com/start
And
click the orange arrow…
The
first screen will ask you to choose a username, password, and other generic
information.
Answer
the few questions and click
.
You’ll
now be asked to name your blog. You’ll want to choose a keyword-rich name.
If your website is about Canadian Rockies, then enter that name in the Blog
Title.
The
Blog Address will be the url where your blog is stored on blogspot.com
Again,
a keyword rich name is in order for the Blog Address. If your market is well
represented in Blogger you may need to try a few names before you find one
that is available. For instance there will be little chance of having a blog
address of http://make-money.blogspot.com
Keep trying different versions of your keywords until Blogger accepts
your chosen address. Eventually you’ll hit a winner.
Example:
I
want to use The Blogger Boost technique to increase page rank on my RSS
related website. So I set up a new blogger account and entered this into the
fields:
Which
was accepted when I clicked the
button at the bottom of the page.
On
the next page you’ll be asked how you want your blog to look. You can just
accept the default as we are not particularly interested in the look of the
blog we are just doing this for the purpose of Google inclusion and page
rank.
That’s
it! You’re done!
Blogger tells you that you can now start posting to your blog.
Create
one quick post before we move onto the next step - changing Blogger’s
default settings - then we’ll never post this way to our blog again…
(You’ll
learn a much faster method for posting now that you have the Google
Toolbar).
In the
Posting Screen add a keyword rich title. In the large white box, add a bit
of keyword rich text and your home page url (make sure you add a space after
your url to make it clickable).

Then
just click the Publish Post button…
Step
3: Change A Few Default Settings in Blogger
This
step is very important! You’re going to click on the next tab at the top
of the page – Settings.
On
this page just add a few keywords or keyword rich sentences about your blog
in the description box, then ensure that all questions on that page are
answered ‘Yes’, and click the Save Settings button.
You
should receive a message that your settings have been saved successfully and
you can republish to at this point to view your changes. Ignore that and
just move on.
We’re
going to change the settings now in the next section…
Here
you’ll see your blog url and change one very important setting – Ping!
By default the Ping Weblogs command is set to No.
You
must change this to Yes.
Click
Save Settings and we’ll move onto the third section…
Most
of the settings in formatting don’t make a lick of difference but one.
Show Link Field. You’ll want to ensure it is set to Yes.
In
Archiving you want to ensure that google checks and indexes your blogger
pages on a regular basis, so change the archive frequency to Daily.
If
you are an avid RSS Feed user you’ll already know that many blog
management services and software dynamically generate feeds using blog
content.
The
standard and most widely used format is RSS in xml format. The least used
feed format is an Atom feed.
Blogger
generates an Atom feed. This means that although the feed has some value, it
does not carry anywhere near as much ‘punch’ as the keyword-rich RSS
Feed you create and promote in The Stampede Secret. Blogger will tell you
where it stores your feed if you choose to cross-promote it hand-in-hand
with your other feed. This is not necessary for The Blogger Boost technique
to work for you, but if you have time you might want to submit the atom feed
to the submission directories found in the Member’s Area of the Stampede
Secret. (Note: Not all directories will accept an Atom feed, but most will.)
Whether
you choose to promote your Blogger Atom feed or not, ensure the settings on
this page are set to Yes
and Full.
This
final step is mindless and remedial, but it works. The process takes less
than 10 minutes each time. You should count on doing this 3-4 times per day
for the next 4 or 5 days. After that, if your site is large and you have the
stamina, keep at it as often as you see fit or add new pages to your site.
You
should at this point have a orange blogger button on your Google toolbar
now.
-
clicking this button is the shortcut to posting to your blog.
Here’s
all you have to do….
Visit
your own website in a browser window. Click and drag to select a sentence or
paragraph of text on that page and click your
button.
If
your settings were correctly changed in your Blogger account, a new window
will open displaying that text, the title of the page, and an active link.
Click the Publish
button. When you receive a confirmation message, close the window.
Navigate
to another web page on your site and repeat the process. Do this for 3 pages
on your site in a row. Each time you hit that publish button, Blogger
updates your blog and pings weblogs.com letting them know that you’ve
updated. At the same time Google is informed that your site is active, is
growing in off-site links and has a variety of pages to index.
The Blogger
Boost Conclusion
That’s
it, that’s all.
As
a Stampede Secret subscriber there is nothing else for you to do to get
great results from this fast and easy technique. If you’d like to learn
