Smart Web 2.0 Traffic eBook?
2.0 Traffic StrategiesThis is actually quite good for a free Web 2.0 ebook resource. I’d like you to grab it as it will bring you up to speed and more aware of what 2.0 Traffic techniques might do for you.
It’s called “The Authority Site Black Book - Web 2.0 Traffic” and is available at the smart subdomain (link below).
If you’re on any internet marketer’s list they’re probably going to use the pre-written email that says “this will work for years to come” and “includes every important Web 2.0 social marketing tactic and website that you could ever want to know about and use to bring in traffic through social marketing.”
Don’t believe it for a minute. The content will not stand the test of time since Web 2.0 sites are being discovered daily and can hit the top traffic charts within a month’s time (making the ebook outdated within weeks of publishing).
Web 2.0 traffic techniques are in their infancy. They require a unique approach to make a difference to your own site - generic reports on this are not going to do you much good other than to awaken you to possibilities and what all the excitement is about.
There are a few things this ebook managed to overlook and even though it’s free, there are also ulterior motives behind the scenes (they’re just well hidden), so follow the advice with caution and certainly don’t blindly follow all their suggestions.
In a week or so I will be talking about specific marketing and website traffic strategies for you - your niche - your target market and how you can easily hone in and create the most time-effective strategies.
In the meantime grab the free resource, browse through it and let the knowledge brew in the back of your mind…
You can grab it here: smart.authoritysiteprofits.com.
I’ll be back later today to discuss defining and then building your own Web 2.0 site and the out-of-the-box scripts and applications that will assist you to reach that goal.

p.s. There is also an option when you go to grab this free resource to tell 3 friends and get another free report including the 3 hour accompanying audio at 23 meg download. It’s called Social Networking Cash and is nothing more than a slideshow (you need the audio to make sense of it). This may be ‘worth it’ to new netpreneurs, but likely a complete waste of time to other, more experienced website owners. (No offense to the people who created it, just that for you and I, three hours is a lot of time to invest listening to information you already know.)
Update! Too heavily hit when I first posted this. The server crashed. I set up an alternate link for you to get the free ebook

Your’s is the second email I got today about this free report. This is the second time I’ve gone to the page. I liked what you said, so I gave it a second shot.
In neither case did I download the free report.
When I follow a link to a free report, I don’t expect and am actually turned off by a video presentation. Give someone the option of choosing to look at a long sales pitch or just getting the report.
By the way I have broadband so that’s not the issue here.

Wow, that’s too bad. The little video is unobtrusive and very short (35 seconds).
Even if the concept annoyed you, you shouldn’t have let it stop you from getting the information and picking up a few valuable tips.
Not that everyone should be like me, but had the video bothered me (and it didn’t), I would have just made a mental note as “I’ll never do that to my website visitors,” grabbed the free report, and moved on.
I do hope you didn’t miss out.

Hi Laura.
Just thought that I’d add my 2 cents worth to the above comments.
I am on dial-up and, unfortunately, could not even view the video, let alone download the report.
I feel that there may be many others in similar circumstances, so it would be a great option to be able to by-pass the video.

Dang Peter you just knocked me off my horse!
I’m joking…you’re right of course. The video is so small that I don’t think they considered it to be a problem…heck I didn’t think it’d be a problem.
I’ll email them and see if they can’t put a ’skip the intro’ link onto the page.

p.s. My apologies to all if you experienced the same trouble. It may also be that you hit at an incredibly busy time as well - and not your connection speed.

Hi Laura,
This is Wayne. Do you remember me?
I downloaded the ebook, Website Traffic Black Book. I don’t understand how the bonus to Website Traffic Black Book is still relevant since MySpace went after these sites.
Thanks for the info.

Hi Wayne, great to see you stopping by!
The bonus (which didn’t do much for me and since I know you are an experienced marketer probably won’t do much for you) is about social networking at large - not just MySpace.
Social Networking doesn’t end (in fact it doesn’t even begin!) at MySpace. There is so much more available to the internet marketer in a much more targeted and lucrative way.

Hi Laura, it’s funny, but I came to your blog through Jack Humprey’s blog.
I’ll try to get this free report.

Laura,
Thanks for the mention!
To address the “years to come” language, that was a mistake on our part in putting that copy together.
What it should have said in addition is that we plan on releasing updates as things change, sites come and go, and web 2.0 evolves.
Otherwise we’d need a disclaimer like “use before next month for best results!”
Totally agree with you - none of us has any idea where this is going exactly (even the owners of Web 2.0 sites have no clue what’s going to happen next). Just that user driven sites are not going away anytime soon.

Jack, I had no problem passing this along as I do certainly believe the Authority Black Book is a great report for people who need to catch up quickly to the trends and the starting point of learning how to meet their markets on common ground in 2007.
Keep up the great work, I’m happy to be one of your channels for alerting people to updates and new opportunities through your network.
Cheers, Laura

I teach a class at my computer club on how to start and maintain an online business on any imaginable topic with no product with no financial investment, with no technical skills. The Authority Black Book is almost manditory in my class. I have taught from this book and have quoted it many times. The benefits my students receive from The Authority Black Book is a great bonus. The info is great.

Hi June, thanks for your ’seal of approval’ on the Authority Black Book. I know Jack will be very proud if he ever stops in again.
I too enjoyed the Authority Black Book, but found it too vague for niche focus sites. One must always be careful when following a guru that they’re learning skills and techniques that fit their business model (which isn’t always the same as the guru’s business model). Marlon Sanders wrote a huge article on this last month - it was very good as it taught people to think for themselves.
As for your teaching - wow! that’s a tall order. No product, no investment, no technical skills - usually works out to no profit. The internet is rife with ‘online business’ sites that don’t make any money. Have your students had much success? I’m sure everyone here is wondering…
Have a great weekend June. It’s Canadian Thanksgiving as I write this, so I know I will!
