I too enjoyed the Authority Black Book, but found it too vague for niche focus sites. One must always be careful when following a guru that they’re learning skills and techniques that fit their business model (which isn’t always the same as the guru’s business model). Marlon Sanders wrote a huge article on this last month – it was very good as it taught people to think for themselves.

As for your teaching – wow! that’s a tall order. No product, no investment, no technical skills – usually works out to no profit. The internet is rife with ‘online business’ sites that don’t make any money. Have your students had much success? I’m sure everyone here is wondering…

To address the “years to come” language, that was a mistake on our part in putting that copy together.

What it should have said in addition is that we plan on releasing updates as things change, sites come and go, and web 2.0 evolves.

Otherwise we’d need a disclaimer like “use before next month for best results!”

Totally agree with you – none of us has any idea where this is going exactly (even the owners of Web 2.0 sites have no clue what’s going to happen next). Just that user driven sites are not going away anytime soon.

The bonus (which didn’t do much for me and since I know you are an experienced marketer probably won’t do much for you) is about social networking at large – not just MySpace.

Social Networking doesn’t end (in fact it doesn’t even begin!) at MySpace. There is so much more available to the internet marketer in a much more targeted and lucrative way.

Just thought that I’d add my 2 cents worth to the above comments.

I am on dial-up and, unfortunately, could not even view the video, let alone download the report.

I feel that there may be many others in similar circumstances, so it would be a great option to be able to by-pass the video.

Wow, that’s too bad. The little video is unobtrusive and very short (35 seconds).

Even if the concept annoyed you, you shouldn’t have let it stop you from getting the information and picking up a few valuable tips.

Not that everyone should be like me, but had the video bothered me (and it didn’t), I would have just made a mental note as “I’ll never do that to my website visitors,” grabbed the free report, and moved on.

I do hope you didn’t miss out.
